Registered Manager
Little bit about yourself (including skills):
I was raised by my Mum who was a Care Assistant in a Nursing Home, this helped me to develop a caring nature towards others from an early age as I spent a lot of time visiting there and helping residents with tea/coffee or even just drawing them pictures. I have always had high aspirations, even as a child and I knew that I wanted to make a difference to the lives of others. I love to learn and grow, not just in my profession but personally as well. Seeing our residents happy is the part of my job that brings me the biggest amount of joy.
What made you want to join the care sector:
I felt a caring role would be a fitting for me as I loved to care for others, and I genuinely wanted to make a difference to their lives. I was so proud of my Mum for helping older people and making their lives better as a result.
Experience in care:
I have worked in a variety of different residential care settings over the last 9 years. I have worked from Care Assistant to Senior Care Assistant and then Head of Care. I was given an opportunity to Interim Manage a 62-bedroom home, which I did for 11 months. I have 4 years’ experience working in a Mental Health EMI and Challenging Behaviour.
What you love about your care home:
The thing that I love most about Treetops, coming from different environments in my time is the way that the home feels. It feels exactly as that, as a home. I really noticed that the staff really do make their workplace a home, not just when it comes to residents but for each other too. It has been the most insightful thing, having such a wonderful staff team who truly believe in the same level of quality care as I do.
Most important qualities/values your care home has:
The most important quality I think Treetops has, is that the staff all share the vision of the service, they all want to make Treetops one of the best homes it can possibly be.
The most important values we all share together as a team, is our commitment to quality care and support of all our residents. We always endeavour together to do the best we can do for our residents.
